You might be asking yourself, "What on earth is this site all about?" It's simple really.

I'm Mike. I suffer from a horribly nasty case of the american dream. Like most Americans though, I have no idea how to make it come true. I've tried on many occasions to start my own business only to have it fail. My dreams of being a successful musician have also started to fade with age (Don't know too many new rock acts getting signed in their 30's).

So let's get to it shall we? I want you to send me money. It doesn't have to be much. It can be $1 or it can be $9,999. If a million of you send in $1 it will make no difference to your quality of life, but it will certainly make a difference to mine, and you'll get to see it as I post info, pics, and charts showing how my life has been changed. Think of me as your virtual human pet, the more you feed me the bigger I get.

I know what you're probably thinking right now: "Why on earth should I send this guy any money?" Frankly, I don't have an answer for you. You will not get anything in return (unless you buy my band's CD or something from the store I'll be building shortly). You don't even get the cozy, do-gooder feeling of knowing you gave your money to a good cause. In fact, I don't really expect you to give me any money. Part of my motivation to do this is to see if it is possible. It's quite an interesting experiment when you think about it. Could the needs of the one outweigh the needs of the many? I'd sure like to find out.

This website will log my adventure. I will post your letters and comments, charts detailing my progress, things I buy, things I want to buy and all kinds of other info about me. I may even hook up a web cam at some point so you can see your human pet.

Finally, the bleeding heart in me nags me about giving something back if I reach my goal. So, If I reach the 1 million mark, I will give half of my after-tax earnings to a charity. I and I alone will choose the charity, but it will probably have something to do with helping kids.

REMEMBER, THIS IS NOT A CHARITY. YOU ARE JUST SENDING SOME GUY MONEY TO TRY AND MAKE HIM RICH.
