hey mike,
people are funny eh? i mean those folks who write
colorful hate mail...you and i both know they are just jealous...or
at least a bit confused : )
personally...i'm not really into money...i think
thoreau was on to something...but i digress.
i 'earn' my money by spending 31 hours of my precious
time per week dealing with the extremely wealthy balancing their
bloated stock portfolios...mom always said if i don't have something
nice to say then don't say anything so i won't go into my feelings
towards 'our clients'. however...my point is that i truly believe
that i don't 'earn' my paycheck...i really don't 'do' anything...unless
you call sitting in a cubicle at a computer 'doing something'.
i raise issue with the definition of 'earn'...i
especially like it when people add in 'hard'...hard earned dollars...if
it's hard then you're just not doing it right.
as you say...we live in a capitalist society...survival
of the fittest...and personally i see no reason for other good capitalists
to get angry with you...i'd argue that we...the capitalists...are
all beggars...and that some just happen to be better at it than
others...and everyone has their own technique...if you 'earn' a
buck by asking for it...or 'earn' a buck by sitting at a computer...or
'earn' a buck by doing back breaking labor...that's your choice...now
get out there and start begging or we're all screwed : )
in your case...kudos for being a better beggar (you
can coin that if you want)...why ask for a buck when you can ask
for a million just as easily? nothing wrong with that. go for it.
ah well...good luck and i hope you million comes
in,
DS
ps - if you post this message i think it'd be fun
to be called 'the bad capitalist' or something like that : ) |
